He's begun to deal better with the snow, and since it was by now disappearing, Jetfire definitely felt a lot better, so he's been wandering around this morning, and the woman working out on the Green had caught his optics earlier.
That she's still out here by noon was enough to draw closer, but he stops some distance away; digging like that would destabilize the edges, and putting a few hundred tons of metal close couldn't really be the most secure.
"Do you hope to find anything in particular?" Jetfire didn't speak immediately, to allow her a chance to actually notice him... he didn't want to surprise her, after all.
Samantha is so absorbed in her work that at first, she doesn't notice the oversized mechanical being that's observing her from a safe distance. If anything, she is meticulous in this kind of work, and it's obvious that this happens to be her passion -- especially considering the way she is so carefully dusting off rocks with a paintbrush she'd found, and setting them aside in different piles.
The voice finally catches her attention, and she looks up, scowl firmly set into place.
She's not inclined to be nasty immediately -- but she doesn't look pleased at being interrupted.
"If I knew -- holy balls."
She finally realized the speaker was a robot, and she stares, open mouthed.
He's starting to get used to that sort of reaction, but considering that most won't expect a reasonably huge robot standing over them, he's made sure - besides the danger of the edges of the hole collapsing - to stop that bit away.
Allow them some space, and while it's not as huge a difference as when he'd be his actual height.
"Mmm, yes. Hello," Jetfire smiled slightly and inclined his helm, before he nodded to Samantha's hole again. "While I understand the impossibility of absolute certainty in what you could find, I assume you have some sort of... theories, or expectations?"
Samantha recovers quickly -- he wasn't the first anomaly that she had set eyes on here, but he was certainly different all the same.
"Well, the grass and the dirt seem real enough. Might be something underneath, after all. The place is medieval in nature, there might be something older down here. Who knows. Maybe I'll I'll find is dirt and rocks."

Lara didn't take long to prepare for her trip to the dig site. She had shed her winter gear in favor of her jungle gear (with pants. It is still winter, of course). Her bag was packed with her needed supplies and slung over her shoulder.
She saunters onto the dig site, with a sway of her hips and examines the area roped off.
Sollux has found a digging implement shovel, though he has no idea if its a good one or not. He really doesn't have any idea why he's doing this, but since she kinda-sorta-invited him he's come to find Sam's dig site.
"You really think there's something here or are you just killing time."
She tips her hat up so she can look at him, and winks.
"Never know what you'll find in this bastard Keep -- could be anything from ruins to rocks around here. Doesn't hurt to take a look."
She gestures to part of her hold that's barely broke the surface -- the ground is cold and hard and the initial digging is rough work. This isn't ideal digging weather but Samantha is bored out of her skull and her hands are too idle.

This must be Samantha. "Hello. I'm Lara."

"Samantha. Tools are over there. I've got most of the perimeter marked off where I'm going to be working, feel free to start wherever you want."

"Start over there."

Sollux hops into the hole but doesn't start digging yet.
"Just don't go too deep. Its dangerous underground and you never know what you might fall into."
Reply
"You've said that twice now. What's with the underground?"
