Arrived in Ireland

Last night, I went to a meeting of local people interested in functional programming. While we were sitting there, at Ruby Restaurant in the U District, a man ran in saying he'd been shot and the shooter was after him. Then another man came in holding a gun. Back home
Got home late Saturday night after a month in CA. Dad died early Tuesday morning of last week (see obit etc). I'm very grateful for the time I had with him. And yes, as Mom said, it's really tough to lose Dad just as he and I were getting closer. I wish I'd thought of and taken the time to work together with Dad on some exploration and writing ( Read more... ) -

i want to break through my current either-or around physical exercise vs productivity/accomplishment. my body doesn't seem to like all the time i've been spending at my computer lately, since my creative research energy has returned in force. i want to be productive without being tied to desk & keyboard and more importantly, witout being tied to ( Read more... ) -
Dream this morning
Reality had split in two. Some things were missing incomplete in each part. For instance, one had the forks and the other had the spoons. But it was subtler than this. One had forkish spoons, and the other had spoonish forks. Many other differences existed. I wanted to make connection with my kids, but they could not see from their partial ( Read more... ) -

I heard back from Google yesterday that they won't be asking me to come back for a second round of interviews at this time. While people gave quite positive feedback about me, my interests are apparently not a good fit for Kirkland, where there are relatively few projects and a great focus on product development. Fun day
This morning, selkie14 & I had breakfast at the Blue Dog Cafe (basil tomato grilled cheese sandwich for me and banana walnut pancakes for her) and then went knife shopping. Specifically, bread knife shopping for her 19th birthday (Monday). We went to three different kitchen stores, looked at several and picked a lovely very sharp one.
