You know how the Uchiha clan has a different way of operating than the Hyuuga - it's the same with the Leaf and the Sand. And it doesn't matter when they're from. Shikamaru often talks about people changing. Sometimes they don't.

Shikamaru told me about how these people saved their lives during a mission. A mission to try and get Sasuke back. It's not- it's not fair asking us to cope with this. This isn't our time, these aren't our allies.

Maybe the City will send us home and bring us back after the war. Then we'll be able to say we understand. [Does not sound like he's convinced himself. Those who died during will still be dead. But he should try and sound more positive, for Rin.] We'll be older then, and I bet we'll be jounins. Could even have students of our own, like Kakashi does, wouldn't that be funny? [Not that this is a safer topic. But they can pretend.]
