Candy, my dog from childhood died yesterday. She was 16. Daddy buried her in the back yard wrapped in
my favorite blanket, the "Gold Quilt" from when I was young. She was the best dog ever. ever.

just for trivia: Candy and Vivi died almost exactly one month apart.

Please, keep your geriatric dogs away from me!

The new dog is pretty awesome.

Vivi died last night.

Yesterday my parents got off fine. But Vivi deteriorated really quickly. I took her back to the vet and he told me that A: She's a really really really sick dog and is on death's door. B. She is not 8 years old, as I was told by the rescue agency. She's probably closer to 13. They did an xray gratis for me and it showed that she has pulmonary edema ( Read more... )

This has been a Christmas unlike any other. I couldn't come home this year because Eric wouldn't let me off more than Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so my parents came to me in Austin.

My mother has to have gallbladder surgery today to remove gallstones. This is very sudden. I wouldn't be so worried if it were a healthy person. But, my mother is not. Her being on oxygen makes it harder to control sedation. Just say a prayer or send her good thoughts or something ( Read more... )
