Further encouragement!
I haven't lost my goggles, just dropped them near the front door when talking to the new neighbour. I found them while unloading the weekly shop from the car.
I should, of course, buy a bike trailer, and shop by bike but have you seen the price of the trailers? And Tesco is below us, there's a stiff little hill to climb on the way back.

An altogether encouraging day. Emperor's encouraging donation arrived for which thank you! Also the donation from my mother, pledged on my birthday. These will not be cashed until the beginning of April as that's the first point where they will take money from me. Passed the target
I have passed the target officially now following two anonymous donations today. It's strange not knowing who has made the donations as I don't know which of my networks the donors come from. Some flyers have gone out today to bell-ringers in South Wales but I doubt if they have got out there yet so it could be old school friends, people from the ( Read more... ) -
A Better Day
It's not exactly a double-blind clinical trial (in fact, it's exactly Not a double-blind clinical trial) but I've convinced myself that taking ay of my blood pressure medication before riding makes life very much harder. Everybody say "Aah"
I have had a bad week on the training front! Tuesday my GP changed my blood pressure medication and I felt very peculiar the rest of the day and Wednesday. So much so that I didn't go out at all. Puncture woes!
I was right to be unconfident about my repair to yriethydd's puncture. By the time evening came it was squidgy again so her mother had to go and fetch her and the bike. A bibulous celebration of her birthday followed which culminated in me dropping chocolate cake on the (buff) carpet and then knocking a cup of coffee all over the carpet. Bike is ok again
Cyclopaedia rang around 1600 yesterday afternoon to say that the bike was ready and my new jacket was in. I decided that life was too complicated yesterday to go and get it straight away so I decided I would walk down there first thing this morning. Bike Disaster
I hit a concrete pillar yesterday and sheared off a brake caliper which means new front forks-more expense and the loss of the bike for several days!
I had eventually fitted the toeclips that I bought weeks ago. Getting my feet out is not the problem I discovered, getting them in is. I was struggling to do just that when I veered towards a large ( Read more... ) -
Wishlist
I need to think what I'm going to spend my birthday money on! The priority has to be a helmet because I can't find my old one and it's pretty old anyway I think I need one with a visor to keep the sun out of my eyes. By the same token I could do with some decent goggles, preferably ones I can wear over my glasses
