I saw this article today and was intrigued. My pal Mike the doctor-in-training told me about the vaccine a few months ago and I was excited to hear about it, but I never expected them to recommend it for girls aged 11-12. Dammit, you have provoked my thoughts! Mainly thoughts of, Should I get vaccinated? But they say it's more helpful in girls before they become sexually active. So, hmm. I hate conservatives. 'sex is bad, let's not save lives raaargh!'

i didnt get to read the article (the link was expired by the time i clicked it), but i did talk to my doctor about it. i think some people are trying to market it as a cervical cancer vaccine, because hpv is a big cause (apparently) of cervical cancer, and getting the vaccine, and hence not getting hpv, greatly reduces your risk of getting cervical cancer. my doctor was very excited, saying it was the biggest thing thats been done for cancer prevention yet. i got the vaccine, so i hope nothing weird happens to me.

i dont really ever try to sound intelligent or thought provoking, because it rarely works, and usually just make myself sound more ignorant.
