Intro for new friends

Hello to all the new friends who have come over from CC - most of you are from my April 08 mamas thread and I'm still excited to share the journey with you. I'm not that great at writing really unique intros - as many of the women who have posted intros so far have done. So I'll just give the basics.

I'm Melissa, 36, married to Dave, soon-to-be 33.

We do have some stuff in common...my husband grew up in Queens, I grew up in Boston, I had a repeat c-section, and my husband is a lawyer (who just made partner 2 weeks ago) who works crazy hours. He was gone for about a month when our first child was about 3 months old. I can relate to your struggle with respect to his work.

Hey, I think I had your avatar photo in the Shutterfly calendar I made last year! :-) Though I'm not really a baseball fan, my DH is.... Funny that you and your DH grew up opposite from us (DH is from MA).

Congrats on your husband making partner!! That's great! (though I know you certainly can relate about the long hours then) When you say "gone" when your first child was 3 months do you mean traveling?? Wow, that must have been hard.

Yes, he was traveling. For the first 2 months, he just worked ridiculous hours, but theoretically, was home. For the 3rd month, he would leave Sunday evening and come back on the red eye Saturday morning. And then he'd tell me how tired he was and that he needed a nap. :)

Where are you delivering, btw? I'm not stalking, but my dad is an OB in Boston...

I delivered at Winchester last time and will do the same this time.... It's closer. My sister is an OB, too, btw - in NYC, though! (Though she was at Mass General for a couple of years a few years ago.)

I know - we'll have January and April babies. Not great weather-birthday times for babies in New England but oh well. :-) Where do you live?
