Is anyone else in Seattle having trouble with their Speakeasy internet? We called them to complain about the speed of our connection and they essentially said, "Oh, sorry, the lines out to belltown are really old and there's nothing we can do about it ( Read more... )

i use comcast and i love it. LeLe actually shares the connection with me since she's right downstairs, and even with both of us watching netflix instant or downloading it's never slow!

We actually haven't been sold, we merged with two other companies, but that does make us now an actual corporation and no longer local. I don't have an answer about the internet troubles though. The phone companies own half the infrastructure so it does happen. I actually have Comcast at home because we don't even have updated infrastructure where I live. The service has always been reliable, but I loathe many of their business practices. *sigh* Can you watch Netflix on your Iphone?

Thank you for the iPhone suggestion! Watching movies that way might be my new favorite quiet thing to do!

Buster is going to call Speakeasy again tomorrow. I think we're done with them! And moving anyway, so whatever. Yay for 3G in the meantime!

It's obviously way smaller and kind of annoying without a kickstand, but it works pretty well.

I'm sorry to hear you're leaving Speakeasy, but I understand. The new company is also way more concerned about small businesses than residential customers anyway, so you're probably better off with one of the really big guys until you need business services anyway.

we have Clearwire 4g on the boat which has pretty decent speed for us. I've been able to download movies and mp3s at 1mbps but average is usually 500kbps. I can stream Hulu and Netflix just fine, but for some reason, I always have a buffer issue any time I try to watch a youtube video.

Comcast is evil but consistent. I prefer that to the local inconsistency of Speakeasy.
