I wondered several times over the past couple of weeks if I was pushing Niko too hard with this bike riding thing. We had a rough 4 mile ride a few days back, when I put it upon us both to ride up to the bike shop to have my bike looked at. I had no idea that nightmares commonly precede breakthroughs for kids. That's kind of crazy, I wonder why?

Their little brains are just on overdrive learning things. It's hard to sleep when you're trying to figure stuff out! Aw of the "nightmares" could be him crying out in anxiety and frustration while trying to figure stuff out. Before babies crawl or walk, they often go through huge sleep regressions. It's one of the things that make learning bumps also rewarding for parents. It's payment for shit sleep!

This is so wonderful and heartwarming (except for the foot problems part). Go Niko! And it's so great that you guys supported his development by letting him try and giving him room to fail - such a good learning experience for him on so many levels.
