The Happening

To celebrate Friday the 13th (and Andrew's only day off in two weeks), we went to see the Happening.

It seems a lot of people don't like the movies of M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs, The Village, Unbreakable, Lady in the Water) and I can understand that. I like them though, a lot. All of them. So I was really excited to see this ( Read more... )

I like most of M. Night's movies, but I could only get through half an hour of Lady In The Water, because the acting was as soggy as Bryce Dallas Howard's water nymph. (Insert drum roll here.)

I did, however, LOVE Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense, and Signs was good too. Hmmm.

I did like Lady in the Water, though I never saw it in the theater because I heard it was so bad. So I was expecting the worse, and ended up liking it.

I think a lot of people liked the Sixth Sense, and though it seems like a much smaller number of people have seen Unbreakable, I know a bunch of people who did like it.

Signs though, it's difficult to find someone who liked Signs. Hahah =P I think M. Night just does a really great job with that whole tension thing though, especially in that one.

yea i'm one of the people who dont really care about M night. so, its like i dont really care whats "the Happening" haha

although i do like zooey deschanel (school boy crush mainly haha), and i didnt know leguizamo was in it. i dig him. and marky mark kinda makes me laugh. but respect.

but ... after signs, i'm like, 'nah man, no more.' unbreakable was dealable, cause i like superheroes and shit. signs started out good, but then it just felll apart ... so my bad for hating your like.

It's cool, we don't have to like all the same movies =P Though we used to be pretty good movie buddies, way back when.
I definitely don't recommend the Happening for you, though.

Today Andrew and I watched the Other Boleyn Girl. Kind of an interesting role for Natalie Portman.
Might go see the Hulk tomorrow =)

The trailer makes it look so amazing, I had such high hopes for it. I haven't seen it yet (almost went to see it last night but stayed home and played Rock Band instead, haha.) but now I don't know if I want to. I might just wait and watch it when it comes out on DVD. Bummer.

I wouldn't waste the money unless you really want to see it. I was looking forward to it for a long time, so I really wish it would've been more satisfying. Oh well!
