4th of July in the ER wasn't as bad as I expected! I prepared myself for the worst, and was pleasantly surprised. First day... and night

I could totally save a cat in respiratory failure.
Today was neonatal resuscitation training - VERY helpful. The day was mostly made up of practicing our intubation and resuscitation skills in very tiny babies. It was very hands-on with the NICU attendings and nurses teaching us. So helpful, especially since my second month I'll be in the NICU! Best part of the day was intubating a live cat! I had 2 days of PALS training, which was immensely helpful! As I said before, it "jump started" my brain into the thinking mode again. Hello, my name is...
Today was PALS day #1, and at first I was very nervous... mostly since I have had the last 3 months to just lounge around and let my brain turn to mush. But the day ended up being really fun. I met the majority of my fellow Peds interns and, thankfully, most seem like great personalities. I feel satisfied with the day, as if it got my mental wheels ( Read more... ) -

2.5 weeks until moving day - It's going to go by incredibly fast!
Today I have resolved to read more Peds review stuff.
And this website to calm my pre-internship trepidation!

Vacation was sooo nice... but I'm glad to be home!
Lots of relaxation, days at cocoa beach, one night we all had dinner on a pier with a nice, surfer-type waiter, and coconut ice cream to top it all off. (I'm in love with all things coconut at the moment.)
