Friday night I took my last NICU call... at least for a while! It was a busy night, mostly due to the thunderstorms and atmospheric pressure changes sending dozens of women into labor. Today was my day off and I consider it quite successful! The day consisted of getting a much needed haircut and later going hiking with some fellow interns! It was beautiful outside; sunny with temps in the 60s. The trails were really crowded today, as everyone else also thought it was a good day for a hike. I'm back in the swing of hospital life and I'm about to start a few weeks back in the NICU call schedule. Should be interesting! Last night I had an ER shift and it was crazy busy! My eighth call done and only one more - it's a nice feeling. But... I transition right into the Peds wards and 4 more weeks of q4 call. But somehow it's alright.
