So I popped into the Graduate Studies office to check that my defense is still scheduled for the date and time at which I think it is scheduled. The nice reception person told me that, until I receive a confirmation email, they can't confirm said date and time, and they won't send me the confirmation email until they hear from the external. Over the weekend I saw two films. Both seasonal blockbusters, both fantasies, both based on British children's literature, both frequently sexist, both out to teach me a lesson about good overcoming evil.
