So I have been to Rabat twice since I last posted. The first time I was there with my host sister. It was the first time we had traveled together but it was a good deal because we ended up staying with a bunch of her family that is in Rabat.

It’s been a while so let me fill you in on what I’ve been up too!

I was pretty happy to return to Meknes after being gone for a while. Though I met many travelers in my time in Granada, I realized that it is always good to have a home base, a place to go back to after you get tired of going from place to place. I love that Meknes ( Read more... )

Meknes is a fabulous city to live in and I find myself loving the small things of just living here as much as the upbeat pace and excitement of traveling. Not having school nor being around many Americans has given me a chance to explore many of the ins and outs of the city and society and everyday I am feeling more comfortable here.

Winter has come to Morocco. It has still been raining a lot, almost everyday and it is cold. But I am extremely happy here still (though I never expected anything else). I have been living with my new family for about a week, and this week has been fantastic! I have learned so much about the culture and everyday Moroccan life. I am really trying to insert myself into their family and I think it is working. So, I’m going to take a trip back into time before everyone left, to talk about one of the most important holidays in the Islamic Religion.

Eid celebrates the story when Abraham was tested by God and almost sacrificed his son but God (Allah) then sent him a sheep to sacrifice in his stead.
