Yesterday the hubs gave me free reign to plant whatever I wanted in our front yard. However, I am having trouble deciding what to plant in the area near our porch. I had the idea of planting a vine on the fence on our porch but I have a decent size area in front of that too. I am open to any suggestions anyone might have for the yard. One thing to

Passion Vines are gorgeous and they do okay in the shade. I'm not sure about "partial shade" but I know shade is okay. Do you remember that flower that my parents' had at the O Street house on the front pillar by the door? The purple flower and green flower? That's a passion vine.

Tulip trees are good too. OOOh, and if you need ground cover, Candy Apple is really hardy and adorable.
