Anyone have a spare laminator??

Keith wants to etch a metal plate and the want to get the toner on the plate as a photoresistor is to put the plate through a laminator. He doesn't think it will harm the machine but he's not sure. So anyone??

Have him look for "Toner Transfer Paper"

The DIY circuit-board people use it to let them laser-print circuit masks and then transfer the toner to the work surface.

Here's directions for doing it with printed circuit board:

The laminator is used to melt the toner off the paper and onto the plate.

Right, but without the right kind of paper (either toner transfer paper or ink-jet glossy photo paper) the toner doesn't come off of the paper well, either.

When I was a secretary in an engineering firm, we had some sticky film that you could put through the copy machine. I used it to photocopy shapes that I cut out and used as resists for a paint job on my bike. They probably have it in an office supply store.

The design is a printed page so cutting out shapes won't work. But thanks for the info.

The iron method isn't transferring the toner well. It's a lot of fine detail so it's gotta be good.
