Been reading some old SF set in the depths of the ocean. It reminded me of numerous books, movies and TV shows set there.

Most of them have people living in large domes. Some (mostly TV & movies) have more "normal" cities with building connected by tubes. And the building are many stories tall.

Nice imagery. But neither will work.

I've just realized that I forgot a point I was going to make in my last post.

Earth has several moons, but Luna isn't one of them.

Yes, really.
Compare the Terra/Luna pair with any other moon & planet in the solar system, and you find a number of *glaring* differences.

This prompted by recently seen errors in books.

If you are writing SF involving interstellar travel, you need to know a few things about stellar types.

First off, the "colors" of stars used in descriptions by astronomers are *not* the actual colors. "Red stars" have more red in the spectrum, but are not what normal people would call red.

I've read a number of "magical academy" stories, and my brain wandered off on an odd tangent. Something reminded me of skyclad... and then my brain veered off to the magical academy stories.

So I had the thought of the potential mess if being skyclad was required for magic *and* you had teenagers learning it in a mixed gender school. Oy.
