Working at Bookmans? So its really become more of a pain to work at than GameStop? Bummer, I would think just the opposite given the seemingly independent operation at Bookmans. I'll be interested to see any future posts you might make about it.
It was for the first six months. Then the original managers left, new managers came in, and fucked everything up. First off, location is poor. We're the only Bookman's not near a University. Second, it's located on one of the worst intersections in the state, and there is an apartment complex behind us where every one living there is on some kind of drug. Our store is not relatively busy, compared to say Wal-Mart, but they have the staff to keep up with the demand. We don't. We keep losing people, yet we don't have the money to hire new people, because fuckwit manager decided that for two months we should buy EVERYTHING. Now we have a profit margin of 36%, the book department has been told that they're bleeding the store, and now we're lowballing everyone's deals, including employees. That, coupled with the fact that, save for me, April, Monty, Lori, and Hudson, NO ONE FUCKING DOES THEIR JOB. I get paid $7 an hour, and it takes a great amount of will for me to not cry when I go on breaks in the back
