In addition to my writing, I've wanted for a long time to work in a capacity where both Japanese and English are spoken.  The problem is, as I've seen today when I started looking seriously at jobs in this field, is that there seems to be no real field for it in America other than if you're a native Japanese speaker ( Read more... )

Umm, I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject, but there's pretty much always a demand for English/Japanese-lingual people here because we're a tourist state (sob.) Especially in Waikiki, bilingual will be a real good bonus for any job. THEN AGAIN, these aren't forever jobs either, unless you want to work in the hotel industry... or make a living as a waiter, which actually you can make a pretty good one if you're working in the right restaurant ( ... )

I kinda have >_> I weighed 170 at the end of college and weigh 190 now. I carry it well and some of it's more muscle from working out, but I still feel that way.

Honestly, right now, any job would be better than no job at all... but I'm still at a loss as to how to go about this. Graduate from college and still have no idea what to do, no wonder when I got interviewed by high school students I advised them strongly to know what they wanted out of life, because I still have trouble getting what I want and I KNOW what I want.

Bah, being too emo now. Will stop. Go out for jog. Do Rosetta Stone. Force myself to write. Being broke and in my parents' house again makes me feel like a loser is all, but doesn't make financial sense to get out.

Hrm. Maybe I could help with fan translations from Japanese to English or vice versa to get some relevant experience. That's about all I can think of that makes sense.

Okay son, so maybe you got some chub on you right now, it's cool. Maybe go running everyday, take a shower, and then plop your ass down and write! Hopefully you'll be tired enough not to be too critical about your words.

Well it's not just you, getting a job at all right now is pretty difficult.

I can kinda see what you mean, a taste of independence and now you're depending on them again, me too, but it's a fortunate position to be in right now. A lot of people don't have the option.

You could! Also, idk, Craig's List your translation services? idk anything about CL but you might get something there.
