Updates.

38. visit 50 new-to-me museums (now 16/50)

On Friday, I visited Olana, the home of Frederic Church, and Clermont, home of the Livingston family. Olana was a beautiful house beautifully situated, with a canned tour and a very factory-like feel to the whole thing. Clermont was utterly charming, not as fancy a house, but with a wonderful ( Read more... )

Ohh! I am SO EXCITED for your battlefield tour!!

And I'm sure you know all about the Method products, but I LOVE their lavender all-purpose cleaner, which is what I usually use in the kitchen/bathroom, but was forced to pick up something else last time and I have been cleaning all the things to try to use it up so I can get back to my nice Method ;)

I had picked up some of the Method lavender a little while ago to replace the 7th Generation when it ran out. I couldn't remember who recommended it but it was you! Thank you! I started using it a few days a go and like it very much. I love lavender scented things in general.

Did you use the one with thyme for disinfecting? It does have a weird smell. I eventually found PureGreen24, which doesn't have a strong smell but does have superpowers for disinfecting. I basically use it only when someone is sick and otherwise rely on regular all-purpose cleaner in both the kitchen and bathroom.

Yes, that's the one I had. It was kind of delicious smelling but I didn't want it around all the time. It was a dinnertime kind of smell.

Right now I've got regular all-purpose cleaner, the Method lavender that rolypolypony suggested above, and I'm liking it.

I've found that for me, there is sometimes just no substitute for bleach. I do get the 7th Generation chlorine-free kind but I like to keep a bottle around for really deep soaking sometimes. (Between the boy and the cat I am constantly astounded by the stains that turn up...!)
