Something of a long shot, but does anyone have any book or movie recommendations that involve the First World War? I'm doing some work research about it for a program next winter, and I've always wanted to know more about the war. I have a halfway decent layman's knowledge, but that's it

Oooooooh, thank you! This is an excellent list. I've read the Lackey, come to think of it - her WWI veteran Reginald has always read as a pretty clear Peter Wimsey analogue to me.

Thank you especially for the poetry recommendations, we may be including poetry in this program and my own knowledge of WWI poetry stops with Owen and Sassoon. I will def. check them out.
