Today was declared Passive Voice Day, by some blogger somewhere.
I love the examples of the poor use of active voice in this piece, from a guy at Berkeley who doesn't worship Strunk and White. Really, keep going through the fourth paragraph.

Yesterday was 10-10 day. It was the 100th anniversary of the Republic of China. In Chinese that looks like ++. There was a banner in Union Square on Friday night, so that's what reminded me. It's good, but not in a double plus way.
