Lyrics
index Kanji+Romaji
here During our lifetime, from when we were born until we die
What kind of happiness is waiting for us?
A little bit more, just a little bit more
Maybe I should stick it out a bit more
Find a job and get married like normal
Go home like normal, go to bed like normal
“Oh well, I guess that’s fine”
Saying things like that again and again
No matter how hard it is now, there is someone waiting for you
Hug each other tight now, too
In times like that, hug each other tight
No matter what, don’t let go of yourself
Keep crying now, too
Keep crying, today too
You’ve made it all the way here, haven't you?
It’ll be okay
A kind person who always puts on a smile
A kind person who cries hidden from other’s view
A little bit more, just a little bit more
It’s okay for you to be your true self
Because I know that you are always doing your best
Hug each other tight now, too
In times like that, hug each other tight
No matter what, don’t let go of yourself
Keep crying now, too
Keep crying, today too
You’ve made it all the way here, haven't you?
It’ll be okay
However long the night, the dawn will break①
But still, it must be hard for you
Through the sky, the clouds are slowly rolling
Always, surely, now too, forever
Hug each other tight
Occasionally you have to grit your teeth
Remember the image of us laughing together
Let tomorrow wait for a bit
That’s right, hold your head high
Let’s walk it slowly, just like this
Hug each other tight now, too
In times like that, hug each other tight
No matter what, don’t lie to yourself
Hug each other tight now, too
Hug each other tight, tomorrow too
Know that I’m always paying attention②
It’ll be okay

① The original line is "soredemo yoru wa akeru" それでも夜は明ける. Direct translation would be "Even so, the dawn will break". But "however long the night, the dawn will break" is an African proverb and I thought it sounds way nicer. On top of that, the phrase "soredemo yoru wa akeru" is the Japanese title for 12 Years a Slave, so I thought it would be appropriate to translate the phrase into the African proverb.
② A direct translation of this line would be something like "I'm always looking at/watching you" and I thought it sounds too stalker-y like Every Breath You Take and it's definitely not meant to sound creepy lol. Another tone-appropriate translation of this line would be something like "I'll always notice you"(?)
