The magazine itself will certainly help establish a steampunk theme, but I imagine the costumes are what will really set the feel. I think more people have corsets or sepia-toned coverall+goggles outfits than flapper dresses et al. But yeah- I found the 20s theme an odd choice. I still imagine it will be something worth checking out before heading over the to goth/industrial night of Contempt that most gothcruisers are going to.
This stuff is getting big on the coasts, but as every other trend, is taking its time to trickle in to the midwest. And our dear Libby, of course, is keeping right in step with it all, hell, even spear-heading the darn movement. That girl is incredible. She is always on top of what's hot, or creating it.
Yeah...Justin was into it years ago, oddly enough, then with Libby popularizing it in Bloomington. Indy doesn't seem to care too much, it seems.
Not really my thing, but, brown has been in my wardrobe for quite a few years, so I was quite excited to be able to go to a club night with my Burberry and browns ;)
Haha. Yeah, I'm a little SOL outside of my victorian goth, )which is happily collecting dust) hence my plea for clothing help. I like to be able to dance unhindered these days.
Holy shit! That's awesome, thanks for pointing me to it. (I can't check lj at work, and only now remembered you had linked to something that I needed to go see at home :P)
Hey. Sorry I haven't been able to spot you before either out or at a Roller Derby bit, but med school is killing me.
Anyway, to the point: I am considering going out this weekend to Neo or something and I'm wondering who else I know (or sorta know) might be making it out.
Long story short: Are you making it out this weekend on either Friday or Saturday? If so, do let me know. Having an "in" to the social scene would be nice.
I am probably going to go out to neo for a bit tonight, but I can't drink because I am skating in the roller derby championship on sunday. I'm not going out at all on saturday night.
