Last day in Japan.

I'm not sick anymore but I'm came out of it in time to realize that there's still so much to do here in the 4 days that are left. But here I am not doing those things for the sake of an update. I bombed the exit exam which is fantastic because I guess that's where my language credits come from. I didn't want to graduate anyway ( Read more... )

So... I sort of fell off the face of the Earth for a little bit. I'm going to try to piece some bits of papery journaling together. There will be at least one entry about the travel week and things really slowed down after that. I uploaded some more photos and will probably do it again before the end of the week. I go home in 11 days. The end.

This is going to be brief because I've been in transit for some 17 hours and have to eat before I get on yet another train. The lone wolf portion of the Golden Week (so called because there are three consecutive national holidays) and I finally got for reals upset about how inept I am with Japanese ( Read more... )

I'm in Hokkaido now. It was a long shitty trip that took far longer than it should have. And in ridiculous proportions too. A little over 2/3rds of the distance took two and a half hours (or was supposed to, the timetable lied to me) and and the remainder took 6 hours. Highlights include two museums, one in Roppongi Hills and the other in Ryogoku. I don't remember what the one in Roppongi was called off hand, because we went on a sort of whim (the place we intended to go was closed), and the other was the Edo Museum. Tomorrow night, I'm going to the Tokyo Dome to see the Yomiuri Giants. That's right. I'm going to a baseball game, and I'm really stoked. In two weeks we're going to sumo.
