KEW note: I'm putting this in the completed section because the final chapters will be posted within 18 hours. It helps to have a passing familiarity with Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy as this is a crossover-y sort of AU that borrows some elements from that universe. The writing sells this story.
