It's one of those weeks where we're a little light on amazing, complete fics but, happily, we're long on amazing additions to existing stories and new works-in-progress.

Summary: Abby Sciuto does not want to go to wizarding school.
KEW note: Just how much does Abby love science? This story totally fits with Abby's whimsical personality. (And despite being an alternate Abby origins theory, it doesn't contradict canon, which you know makes me a happy camper!)

Summary: The real argument(s) Ziva caught the end of.
KEW note: I particularly liked how the ending of this story flows directly into canon without a hiccup.

KEW note: I absolutely love the last section.

KEW note: I like how this story turns the NCIS slash paradigm inside out.
"Ignoring the Evidence" by colorguard28 (colorguard28)

Summary: What do you get when you cross a lab bat and an autopsy gremlin? It sounds like more teasing from the team. But could it be that Abby has been missing what's been right in front of her all along?
KEW note: Good news for non-slash fans who've shied away from colorguard28's Tony/Tim series: the author has excerpted and slightly reconfigured the adorable Abby/Jimmy subplot from "Life is Made" and posted it as its own story, independent of the series.

Summary: An undercover operation further complicates Tony and Ziva's tense relationship when they are asked to assist the L.A. division in catching a serial killer tearing through the city.
KEW note: The beginning of what looks like quite a good undercover case fic. Check out the last scene to see how well and in canon this author writes the dynamic between Tony and Ziva.
"Yetoma" by Cricket Songs *NEW

Summary: On the morning of December 10, 2009, Ziva's ties to her old world are suddenly, violently broken. A bomb drifts over Jerusalem. Israel is gone.
KEW note: A story with darker, political themes layered on top of personal grief. I first read this a while ago and a new chapter has just been added.

KEW note: Chapter 8 added. This story does an amazing job of incorporating literary references in a very in-character way--see Paloma's Tennessee Williams references in "Rule 51" and the opening lines of the story quoted above. There're even more brilliant ones as the story builds.

Summary: A senior JAG goes missing in Bahrain. A junior pilot falls from the skies. As DiNozzo is trying to find his way as team leader and Gibbs is getting used to a new team, they realize that these two cases may not be unrelated.
KEW note: Chapters 11 and 12 added. There's a very sweet chapter that for the first time in this story really focuses on Tony and ZIva.

Summary: A Marine appears to have been murdered simply for being gay. When the victim is linked to a member of his team Gibbs is forced to tackle Don't Ask Don't Tell head-on, and it leads him somewhere he never thought he'd go.

KEW note: Chapters 56-59 added, bringing the story up through 8x03 "Short Fuse". I'm very glad that this fic has returned from summer hiatus as good as it ever was.
