I have slightly too much time and too little social life for the next couple weeks, and a good independent video store near by. Any recommendations of movies that I ought to see and might not have?
I like pretty awful movies, but Hot Fuzz, The Full Monty, and Shawn of the Dead are great entertainment. If they have any TV shows, Blackadder is really good- I don't care for the first season, but then again I haven't had much medieval history. Megan thought it was funny. But the last three are really great.
Invite people at your classes to watch movies! Is my recommendation. I as well am trying to make friends at grad school, so I know what it's like.
Thanks! My situation right now is that grad school hasn't started yet, so I've been reading and settling in and hanging out with the few friend I have here, but am not yet really busy. It'll start on September 3rd, and then I doubt I'll be complaining about too much free time for seven years or so.
The Seventh Seal is a good one The F Word is very very very indie, but it's a pseudodocumentary on the rnc in 2004 told from the view of a mobile radio host. Wristcutters: A Love Story is cute.

Crossroads (the one circa 1986-ish)
This is Carly, by the way - I think I knew you had an LJ, but forgot. Hi!
