it started out cute and then it got gross. just as gross is that the tone tried to remain cute. stiches? really? because ouch.

idk if meme finds this stuff as interesting as i do, but one of my korean friends told me that in korean shops you can usually only find clothes in certain sizes for women--like a us xs-m, and for shoes a us women's 5-8. not because all korean people are those sizes, but because the korean social mindset is that everyone SHOULD BE that size, and maybe if they don't provide clothes for bigger people, no one will be bigger.

i think i remembered this bc of the anons talking abt leeteuk. like if he was socialized in a country that doesn't even (generally) make clothes for people larger than a certain size... it doesn't really surprise me that he's said sideye-worthy things about people who are "larger" than that typical view :(

this is generally the case, according to my relatives who live in Hong Kong. generally, you are very responsible for the shape and size of your body in East Asia.

i find that really interesting. it's all so internalized, i guess.

i do remember watching a short korean skit, and the boss was getting overweight (with a teensy, barely there belly) and his employees were criticizing it in his face and asking him whether he'd been okay lately. i think it's expected for both sides but there's so much more pressure on women :/

yep :( that same friend also told me (he's a guy) that even though the pressure is less with men, most guys won't make friends with "unattractive"/"fat" guys. like they won't necessarily be mean to them, they just won't be their friends.

“Just because something is beautiful doesn't mean it's good.”

she's quiet when she looks at him. he would describe her eyes as emotionless if it weren't that she was looking so immensely bored. he does not know what it is she is bored by - if it is him or simply life itself. no one ever knows why she's bored, so that's why people whisper or outright tells her to her face that they think she's a bitch. she's quiet and she's staring and he wonders if she's waiting for him to say something. he cups her face in his hands and moves his thumbs over her cheeks. he drags one thumb across her full lips and her eyes are still bored.

i am a thing, she doesn't say but he knows it. he knows it and he wishes he could say something to her. maybe her eyes weren't bored. maybe she just was empty. her cheeks are pale and her lips are red and her eyes are nothing. there is no meaning in telling her all the things he wishes to. there is no meaning in something, because something is just as empty as her eyes. he counts her eyelashes and loses count.

that happens when you try to leave links as an anon. the mod needs to go in and change that setting manually.
