It's amazing the things a disease will change. Eighteen months ago, my life was about experience; no matter what it took, I wanted to live my life doing new and different things, going places, meeting people. Now, I just want to be as comfortable as I can get, and keep my pain and stiffness as minimal as possible ( Read more... )

Couldn't agree more, Kim. And what you can't do physically, do it mentally, learn a new language, or science, or something, read old travel journals from Cook or so. A human absolutely needs the adventurous element in his life.

absolutely, daniel. i believe that is true, and some (like me) seem to need more adventure than others. no one will ever be able to convince me that GOD did not intend for us explore and experience this world and the people in it with wonder-filled, adoring hearts and minds.

i'm so looking into a hover-round, but my intentions are less than honorable, i think. *scuffs her foot, whispering* ankles are in trouble...

i have mixed feelings about zoos, but i generally enjoy them more than i probably should. unfortunately, the only zoos worth visiting around here are the national zoo and the maryland zoo in baltimore -- both make me wish i was on the other side of the bars, if you know what i mean. although, now that the kids are back in school, i can go on a day when there aren't too many field trips scheduled and it shouldn't be that bad, at all.

calorieless and sugarfree cookies are win.
