My diabetes is the only thing behaving these days.

My family went to Hershey Park today. And so, tonight, for the first time in five months, I had a piece of chocolate. Okay, three pieces. Three little Kisses.

And still, I could have almost cried from the joy they gave me.

It's amazing the things a disease will change. Eighteen months ago, my life was about experience; no matter what it took, I wanted to live my life doing new and different things, going places, meeting people. Now, I just want to be as comfortable as I can get, and keep my pain and stiffness as minimal as possible ( Read more... )

So... Self-pity meltdown aside, I had a pretty awesome birthday. Family from North Carolina (my mom's best friend and her son) came up to spend the week with us. The weather was amazing her entire stay, with some of the most gorgeous skies I've seen in months.
