Brian, as a character, was three tenths what I saw on screen, and seven tenths what you wrote.

I wish that it was something other than PW's death that prompted me to say that to you,

That's so kind. For some reason, that character has always really spoken to me and now I feel the silence more than a little premature.

I didn't realize how attached I was to the whole character/actor (since I after all don't know him at all) until this tragedy happened. Just thinking about all of them having this big hole left where he no longer is just ... hurts.

It really does. I was looking forward to watching him age gracefully.

The movies and this fandom have made me so happy and he was a big part of it, I'm so so sad.

I am not even beginning to deal with all the FEELS I have about this, and them. I do know I'm grateful for YOU and the others who have posted because it helps me understand that I'm not alone in feeling this way.

And I can only imagine what this week feels like for his family and friends. If I feel this bad... Jesus.

My family has been great to me, my sister and her husband and I had a long reminisce about his films on Monday. So glad I could come commiserate on LJ though...reading the news/tweets, etc. just makes me too sad.

I saw the news just idly browsing my phone when it broke Saturday night, but forwarding you a link just seemed crass. I didn't know him beyond the first F&F film, but the whole thing has been sneaking up on me at odd moments. [hugs]

I know...it's weird, I would not have described us as a hugely sentimental bunch, but everyone I speak to is just gutted. He seemed like one of the good guys, and they're not so very common. I met him once and his smile almost literally had wattage. So very sad.

Maybe part of the reason it feels so senseless, as it always does when someone with everything going for them dies, is that the car they were driving was known to be dangerous. When a race car driver says a car scares him, shouldn't that mean it's taken off the road, or at least reasonably modified?
