Loom with a view

A while back, I talked a little bit about how I was trying a different method to thread my loom called, appropriately enough, tying on. Since I'm going to be weaving the same broken diamond twill pattern as the blue wool in my avatar, tying on offers one way of getting a warp unto a loom that is supposed to reduce errors and somehow take less time ( Read more... )

I think that would push me to "Tie One On". WOW! That's a lot of work. You're amazing!

Ugh. My favorite (not) But really? it's just as tedious as the alternative PLUS you don't have to worry about threading errors. Good luck w/ that :P

Ohh... I love your beautiful yellow warp!!!

In Cape Town it's basically impossible to get anything that gorgeous... though I could bite the bullet and start purchasing on the internet. It's stunning! What are you making?

This piece is yardage that is a gift for Inga. It will be a yellow and white broken diamond twill. The fiber is Jaggerspun super fine merino woolen, 2/18. It should end up being about 7 yards long and 38ish inches wide.

I'm going to switch to worsted wool after I finish this piece. The superfine merino is truly delicious through and I get it wholesale, which is extra nice.
