I met up with my half-brother Troy on Saturday. Its been a good 20 years. He now wears dentures and his trucker occupation has left him speaking with a southern drawl. We shook hands, made small talk for about a hour and that was that. His twin girls turn 3 next month.

Last year at this time I couldn't watch fireworks, because I was too busy keeping someone's toddler out of traffic whilst waiting for them to return from 'getting a drink of water'.
