What a fun list!

I'm a big Keaton and Lloyd fan too. "Girl Shy" is film that when it plays in a theater is one that I always bring someone who's never seen a silent film to see. When it's over I have fun reminding them that we know he's got a stutter that stops when he hears a bell - and it was a silent movie. Actually, whenever a Lloyd or Keaton film is playing in a theater I try to drag a newbie along and without fail those two have shown my friends that silent films aren't really silent.

Thanks for the memories your list evoked!

You're welcome! It's nice to meet another Keaton and Lloyd fan. I wish I lived near a theater that played silent films.

I've been lucky living in the San Francisco Bay Area (and for a while in Los Angeles) and having access to seeing silents on the big screen - sometimes with full orchestras. Sadly, the Silent Film Theatre in LA is now more of an art house place and they only show silents on Wednesday. I try to get out to screenings partly because it's good to show support so they might to more in the future but also because silent films are kind of like live theater - new score every time and the reaction from the audience is always different.

I live near L.A., but I can't get out there very often. Where is the Silent Film Theatre?

You just reminded me how much I want to see The Student Prince in Old Heidelberg. I can't find it anywhere though.

And after saying I can't find it I did another quick search and there it was on YT. Thanks for reminding me about it. :)

Late reply here, but where did you find The Student Prince in Old Heidelberg? I can't locate it on YouTube.

Unfortunately since I have watched it on there they have erased it for copyright reasons. :(

I saw most of them on TCM except for The Mark of Zorro which I saw in school. Some of them are probably on YouTube.

There are also a lot of public domain films (including lots of silents) are available at the Internet Archive.
