It's been a very long time since I've posted here. It's partially because I forgot about this journal, partially a lack of time, and partially a lack of interest. Everything has been about Harry Potter for me recently and I've been loving it!  Everything from the new movie, to the Lego game for Wii, to my attempt at cauldron cakes, to this fabulous compilation of Harry Potter quotes!

I don't get out much.  Between a full time job, a husband who does shift-work and is away from home 15 hours per week more than I am, and a lack of suitable babysitters, I don't get much time for myself let alone go out for a night on the town.  I also find that when we do get the chance to go out, we usually opt to go to the movies.  It would be ( Read more... )

I like to clean.  I don't know what it is, but I enjoy tidying up and making the surfaces gleam.  It's been that way since I was a teenager, which is likely why my Mom bought me the Scotch Brite Glass Cloth.  Maybe she was trying to tell me something - but I think the more likely story is she knew how much I would love the cloth!

I harvested our rhubarb for the first time this season and it was delicious!  I made both a Rhubarb Crisp and Rhubarb Pie, neither of which I've tried before.  We did cut the whole patch down and relocated it, so I hope it takes to its new home and grows back up soon!  I definitely need to make more of each before the summer is out, and I'd like to ( Read more... )

The other day I thought I'd go to Wet Seal and see what I could find that I liked.  Turns out that I had just over $120 worth of product in my shopping cart and, after a wonderful Mother's Day, thought I'd treat myself to all the wonderful things I had picked out.  Nothing was too fussy, kind of plain jane... just like me.  I entered in my address ( Read more... )

As planned, I watched the pilot episode of Cougar Town when it aired and I wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be.  I didn't go back to the show right away, but when I did I found that the season had really picked up.  I find it quick, and witty and in some cases just downright hilarious!  While I enjoy Courteney Cox's character, I find that it's ( Read more... )

First it was the cast of Big Bang Theory, and now I've found crocheted figures of the Mythbusters!!  I can't believe all how the fans of Mythbusters have created so many tributes to them.  I really must learn to crochet and build my own Mythbuster.  I'm a little disappointed that Kari, Grant and Tory are missing from some of these crafts though.

I've long decided that when my Baby Girl reaches an appropriate age, I'm going to buy a dvd player portable for use in our vehicle or when out camping.  To visit her Nan and Pop is a two hour drive, so when she's old enough that she won't sleep most of the way she'll need some way of occupying herself.  If only they had these kinds of devices when ( Read more... )
