day at the beach

I went to the beach today. The water was warm and stunningly clear, the color of glimmering emerald. The break was about 3-4' big enough for fun but not exceptionally rough. The shore was relatively quiet and a gorgeous breeze was blowing puffy clouds across the sky. At some point, as I floated over a swell, staring at the sky it occurred to me

I stayed in and played Nerf basketball today. The ball was soft and squishy, the color of an orangy sunset. The net was small and challenging, big enough for fun but not exceptionally tough. The room was relatively quiet and the open window blew a soft breeze through. At some point, as I bend my wrist back before throwing the ball, it occurred to me: I really do suck at this game.
