I've run in to a temping dry spell. Could it be because of my performance at the last gig? It took me two full days to assemble a binder, and I didn't even finish it. They took away the Discovery Health Channel from our basic cable lineup. Since we're such cheapskates and refuse to upgrade to digital, this means no more episodes of "The Man Whose Arms Exploded," "Trashcan of Skin" or head-scratchers like "I'm My Own Twin." You never really realize what you had until it's gone, I suppose.

Be wary of the following people:
- Anyone over the age of 12 who wears a hair ribbon.
- Anyone who puts a comma after Hi in the beginning of an email, as in Hi, Suzy. These folks will invariably be as uptight in real life as they are in their correspondence.

Unhireable!
I went to a job interview last week and used the following phrase: "the Talk Soup era." To be fair, the interviewer was the one who brought up Greg Kinnear.
If a bon mot like that doesn't get a job, then I am officially out of ideas. It's looking less and less likely, since they said they'd email, and my inbox is still so very lonely.
