I just got the call from UC. I did not get the job. They picked someone with more experience. I have been trying not to get my hopes up, but I am pretty disappointed. But, I always say everything happens for a reason, so we'll see what the reason was for this eventually.

You are correct. Everything happens for a reason. Maybe you needed a little practice with the whole interviewing thing before the universe sent you the perfect career opportunity. Thoughts become things, dude, and in my mind you got a kick ass job and are extremely happy.
