The wheels on the bus go round and round...

So at a point in my life when many of my friends are finishing up secondary and post-secondary degrees and quite a few are teaching at the collegiate level, I am going back to school.

I'm not a freshman... yet. I'm taking one course over the summer to see if I can hack it - it has been over 12 years since I cracked a textbook. If I enjoy the ( Read more... )

Oh, good for you!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so happy for you! College was the best descicion I ever made, it turned my life around. I didn't start till I was 27/28, so it's great to wait is my motto. :) I was finally ready for it at that point in my life.
You will never believe how easy it is, for a smart woman like you. What course are you going to take this summer?
(when I went back, I had to go through all these basic math classes just to get caught up for the past ten years of not even thinking of math!:) )

Tell me all about it when you get some time. :)

I'm starting out with Accounting 1. If I enjoy it, I'll go back for the Accounting degree. If not, I'll probably only take one more course - Payroll Accounting - which was the whole reason I started looking into going back. My boss would like for me to someday take over the payroll administration (we currently outsource it). So looking into my options on learning payroll, I came across an online Payroll Accounting course at the local community college. Since it's a 200 level course, I figured maybe I should start at the 100 level and take the Accounting 1 course (also online). As I looked further, it appears that, even if I decide to get the degree, I may never have to set foot on campus. Every class I'd need to take to graduate with an AAS has been available online.

That's really cool. Way to go. I'm so happy to hear how much your boss likes you, too. :) It's good to have a secure position at a job you like, huh? (At least, that's what it seems from what you've written! LOL) I wish you tons of luck, and please, keep in touch as much as possible! I love to hear from you, and I hope to be able to see you again soon. :)
