Well, after 7 letters and various emails to the home office and prime minister regarding the police powers awarded in the pace act of around 2005 or something like that, I have received an answer

It is just great, not only stupid laws but they get away with implementing the rules to do with how they do things in a hugely half assed way.

Is this east or west Sussex? I had some interesting encounters with the police in Brighton. In fact, considering Brighton police apparently pride themselves on their communication & cooperation with the 'gay community', I sincerely believe that it's Brighton police who win my award for most homophobic, bigoted police service I've personally encountered.
