Summary:
He groaned, noticing how only one minute had passed. One minute that had felt like hours. ‘Maybe I could call Reita...’ He mused, glancing at his phone. Maybe just talking to him would cheer him up and might even give him an idea of what to do.

It was one of those quiet summer days, sun high up in the sky, surrounded by an endless blue. A soft breeze making the green leaves dance. No traffic on the road to be found, and the only sounds that could be heard were the occasional chirps of birds and laughter of playing children.
Perfect, wouldn’t you think?
But not for Kai, who was stuck in his apartment with nothing to do. To him it was too hot to go out. He’d rather stay inside, where the airco kept everything cool and bearable.
With a sigh he turned around in his bed once again, staring out of the window, hoping something to do would fall from the sky. Kai loved yet hated the summer break. He was grateful for the lack of work and stress. Yet, after getting used to always have work to do, he had no idea what to do with this sea of free time.
Usually he would spend it with Reita, or one of the others. But today Reita just came back home from visiting family over the weekend, so he wanted to unpack. And the others where busy with their own social life.
He groaned, noticing how only one minute had passed. One minute that had felt like hours. ‘Maybe I could call Reita...’ He mused, glancing at his phone. Maybe just talking to him would cheer him up and might even give him an idea of what to do.
Shrugging he sat up straight against the headboard of his bed and dailed Reita’s number, hoping he wasn’t disturbing him. He fiddled nervously with a pillow as he waited for the other to pick up.
“Moshi moshi” Reita’s calm voice spoke up, making Kai’s heart skip a beat.
“Hey Reichan”
“Oh! Hey Kai! What’s up?”
“I’m bored..” Kai whined, hugging his knees to his chest.
“So?”
“ Well...I hope you knew something to amuse me...”
“Hmm..what about doing some game? Or watching a movie?”
“Naw..”
“Erm...or try out a new dish!”
“But there’s no one here to enjoy it!”
“Then read a book? Or try to write something? I’m sure there’s something you can do!”
A pout made its way to Kai’s lips. He had hoped Reita would offer to come over to keep him company. “But I don’t wanna do anything I come up, and I don’t know what I do want to do”
Now it was Reita’s turn to sigh. “Just find a book or go take a nap. I’m kinda busy with unpacking right now. I’ll talk to you later ne~” And with that Reita hung up, leaving Kai bored AND sulking.
He hadn’t expected Reita to be like this. With a sigh he turned on the radio and laid down on his bed again, cuddling a pillow close. A pillow to replace Reita, whom Kai much rather cuddled than a cold pillow. Reita, who would usually be more than happy to spend time with Kai cuddling in bed.
With a pout still lingering on his lips, Kai finally fell asleep after a while.

There was a soft noise coming from Kai’s living room, yet Kai slept through it. Only when a pair of arms wrapped around him and a warm body pressed against his, he woke up startled.
“slept well?” Reita asked as Kai turned around with a surprised look on his face.
“Surprise. Can’t leave you all bored and alone ne?” Reita said with a smile and placed a gentle kiss on Kai’s lips.
A glance at the clock made it clear that he only slept for 20 min, which meant Reita must’ve left his home pretty soon after hanging up. Kai grinned happily, Reita always managed to surprise him like this. He chuckled and wrapped his arms around Reita too, enjoying the closeness.
He was glad Reita came over after all. Nothing was better than to spent a summer afternoon laying cuddled in bed with the one you love. After placing a tiny peck as thank you on Reita’s cheek, he laid his head down on the bassist’s chest.
For a long time they laid like that. Like time didn’t even exist. No worries, no time, just the two of them.
But when Kai almost drifted off to dreamland, Reita spoke up again.
“Hey Kai-love..”
“Hmm?”
“I’m bored”
A pout formed on Kai’s lips as the drummer sat up straight, only to see Reita wearing one of those smug smiles.
“Just joking love” He chuckled while Kai pouted only more.
“You jerk!” And with that said, a pillow made its way to Reita’s head, hitting him right in the face. It didn’t took much longer before Kai too, got the same treatment, laughter filling the room.
Doing nothing wasn’t so bad after all. As long as you do it together.
