I had a lovely weekend in Sapporo during the famed yuki matsuri - snow festival - the city puts on in conjunction with the self-defense force.  The trip came right on the heels of (what I am hoping was) the coldest week of the winter.  Thank god it got warmer, though, because I was already at my limit as it was.  The cold and I don't really get ( Read more... )

Yeah, it wasn't that much colder than how it is where I live, but staying outside in the cold for such extended periods of time was what finally did me in.

I know! Snow can be a nuisance, but at least it can be beautiful, too.

Now that's what we call marvelous... and it's sad to think that a lot of people hate winter. I would love to see them too~

Too bad snow will never fall in the tropics... unless climate change makes it fall, which I'd rather not happen because a whole lot of tropical species from all classes of the kingdom animalia would vanish. And I will NEVER want that to happen.

Haha in the end, traveling would be the most convenient option and now I happen to go off the topic.

By the way, I love the Mario and the animal snow figures~~

Yes! You can always take a trip to a winter wonder land. Living through 5 months of winter is too much, though. At least I have my kotatsu.

Mario was a popular one.

*Does the Kasuga salute*

I feel a little sorry for Wakabayashi, though. I always thought he was the cuter one anyway.

So nice ice sculptures! I especially like the sleeping totoro. I love totoro! And the ice animals. They are so detailed. And the ice building.. How cool!

Really love to see Japan to experience all these things.

And, I've only seen you now in pic. You are pretty ^^

*blushes*

Yeah, the Totoro one was so cute! They actually had a second "Eco" Totoro with a sign that talked about nature preservation, but the sleeping Totoro was way cuter.
