Child Spacing

I emailed my aunt to asking her thoughts I child spacing. She wrote a really thoughtful repsonse back that I thought I'd share. (FYI- she and my uncle have 3 kids and my uncle has three older kids from a previous marriage that lived with them full time until recently.)

FWIW, I completely agree with everything your aunt wrote. Those are exactly the same reasons that we are hoping for a 2 1/2 year age difference. How funny that I came to this conclusion all on my own. I'm glad to know that my instincts are supported by someone who has "been there done that". What are your thoughts?

I agree with her too. 2.5 years apart puts #2 being born in February 2008. Not my ideal time for maternity leave in Wisconsin. I'd much rather have a spring/summer/fall baby so maybe that pushes it back a bit or moves it up for us. We're talking about it daily. Since P wasn't "planned" making the decision to actually go ahead and start trying is super scary! I wish it would just "happen" again! LOL.

It's funny that you say that about February because July/August is not a great time to have a baby in Dallas. I'm specifically aiming to have a baby in late winter/early spring for just that reason :) It is weird to be thinking about it again, but we probably won't start (based on my very specific time noted above) until March-April of next year. I guess we have awhile to get used to the idea. Good luck on your decision.
