ETA: I happened to start with the third episode on a whim, and I definitely think it starts to get really good at that point.

See my note to cbtreks below-definitely hang in there at least through episode 3. The first two are a bit rougher than the rest.

Thank you for the reminder! It's been on my TBW list for so long but I wanted to rewatch all of Star Trek first. Did that last year but haven't gotten to this yet. I need to move it up the list.

So, I do have a small caveat! I started at episode 3, because someone mentioned that was their favorite episode. Now having watched the whole series, and gone back to watch episodes 1 & 2- the first two are good. Good writing, some really nice nuance. But it gets SO MUCH BETTER at episode 3. So if you start at the beginning, hang in there until at least episode 3! ♥
