today, robbie asked me to read an essay id finished the previous night for my concordia courses. i didnt send it to him, because ive always felt uncomfotable with other people reading my school work, with the exception of proof-readers. i think you are just self-conscious about other people seeing your mistakes. from my observation, it really has nothing to do with privacy.
criticism is good. it goes a long way. it teaches you a lesson. it's important. if you never recieved criticism, you'd NEVER improve. maybe you are scared of change/moving on/getting better (because that's exactly what proofreading a paper is about!). sometimes the most important things you learn in life are the hardest to stomach, but once you let yourself be angry and upset, and finally move on, you become a better person. in this case, you become a better writer.
on that note, i fucking love editing!
