Are the greatest griefs those we cause ourselves?

pretty mucu all grief can be traced back to ourselves somehow, wheather it be direct or indirect, you actions cause a chain of events, a ripple in the pond, which will eventually comeback. call it karma, call it whatever, but that is how i noticed life goes.

No, the greatest griefs are caused by the one we love, and it hurts but we just keep staying in love with them..

I think so because all griefs caused by ourselves upon ourselves are evitable, as opposed to ones which were outside of your power. It's not that the evitable grief in itself is always worse, it's that it was in your power to have never allowed it in your life. Than again does anyone knowingly hurt themselves?
