funny for anyone who remembers any o.chem

Jul 02, 2007 08:32

On the plane on the way home, I was reading through the SkyMall "please buy expensive things?" magazine, and I noted with great bafflement/amusement something that professed to be made up of "100% olefin".

Weekend was exceedingly pleasant.

An olefin is , in essence, just a double bond. There is also a general class of stuff called "olefin fibers", namely, polymers made from simple olefins. But just saying it's made out of "olefin" is kind of overly vague.

Hahahaha!

That advertiser must have been desperate for an angle to sell that product. Hey, at least it is a "totally organic" product. :p

Heh. "We're not telling whether we polymerized the ethylene, or the propylene, or something else, but we assure you: it isn't nylon or polyurethane!"

Since I don't get o.chem jokes, and your post reminded me of this.
