New Layout and Novel Excerpt! :)
It's been passed time for me to get a new journal layout. Not that I didn't love the black and red, I did, but it was just time for a change. And since NaNoWriMo's coming up in November and I've been getting in the spirit, I thought this would be a fitting new design. It's a bit skinny to me, but I like it. It's very...novelisty. Indeed.

The grandmother and I took Clarice to her first radiation treatment yesterday. She's got to go back on Monday at 1, but after that, we'll be driving thirty minutes to Opelika at 2:45 every day. The grandmother and I will be taking turns.

Is it 2010 yet?
I am so ready for 2009 to be over. It's been a Hell of a shitty year for my family.
First, my great-grandmother dies in March. Then, my uncle has a brain tumor removed in April. Now, my great-aunt has just now revealed to the family that she has a lump on her breast.

They recently published this essay in the Book Review about the crappy-ness of the Accelerated Reading program schools use. I had to abide by it all throughout elementary school, and I. Hated. It. I just got back from Auburn with Mother. She needed to run into Home Depot to get a ladder, so, knowing that I hate any store that sells power tools, she dropped me off at Books-A-Million.
She's a good mommie like that. :)
