yesterday i completed my first marathon. 4 hrs 58 min. it was such a surreal experience. we ran in the streets of seoul from ganghwamoon to jamsil. i hadn't trained at all going into it and i almost decided not to run in the race, but at the last minute decided to try and see how far i could go. i was hoping to make only half or 2/3 but i managed ( Read more... )

i'm glad i didn't poo in my pants too. although when i was running my 2/3 marathon last september, i had to poo halfway through the course. and i had to wait until we ran by a bathroom. it SUCKED. there's nothing worse than trying to run when you have pressure building up there like a volcano getting ready to erupt - it makes your legs feel kinda wobbly and weak. AND the ONLY bathroom that was closeby was an OUTHOUSE where i had to squat down on two wooden boards and shit onto a enormous mound of shit not too far below my ass. i mean, nothing feels better than squatting and shitting after you've run about 14 miles and have about 5 more to go. oh the memories.

jeezus!!! lily! i had no idea! i'm so proud of you :) you have a will like no other i've seen...esp without having trained! i'm going to have to call you super-lily from now on. please don't accidentally kill yourself you hear! i totally know how you feel about wanting to take a dump during a run though...it almost feels like trying to prevent a cannonball from dropping out of your rectum when the only thing holding it in is your atrophically muscled-anal sphincter. i can still barely do 9 miles (i'm on wk 3 of wk 9 for my first half marathon)...but i'm getting there! i'm going to have to get some running advice from you :) it's funny you attacked a whopper set afterwards. i have a tendency to pig out on spicy korean food after my long runs...
